Keanu is most embarassed about this role, as Jonathan Harker, than any other role he has taken. Prehaps an exaggeration but he definately feels he could've done a better acting job.
It's fortunate he went for this genre though, because a whole new range of people became interested in him. Most people (non-fans) I've spoken to don't even know it's him.
Anyway, we have a Mr. Harker - a English lawyer - paying a visit to Trannsylvannia to visit Count Dracula to sort out some legal stuff. We've got Keanu with a British accent, wearing cool riding-type clothes, being seduced into the power of a vampire. Can't say it's not interesting!
I remember people talking about it when it came out in late '92. I knew I never wanted to see it but I ended up seeing it at a Hallowe'en party a few years later. I didn't like it. Not until I found out Keanu was in it did I watch it again. This is one of the few Ke movies that I don't own, and haven't seen a million times. I'm planning on changing that though I do admit it isn't one of my favorites, largely due to Keanu's blankness. I believe this may have been around the time of River Phoenix's death, which would be an acceptable excuse for.
